Biography

Born in Canberra, Aleisha Sevinctekin studied at Belconnen High School before moving to Western NSW to Lightning Ridge – a remote town known internationally for its deposits of opal gemstones. Aleisha has experience in AUSLAN (Australian sign language), and brings very strong administrative skills to the Director’s office where she supports outreach events and communications, and is part of the front-of-house team. NCIS is very proud to have a Ngunnawal woman in our small team.

Aleisha feels incredibly honoured by her role as a trainee at the National Centre for Indigenous Studies and is prepared for the new challenges and learnings.
